Our team is based in Cromwell, Central Otago, and brings together diverse clinical and professional backgrounds in osteopathy, rehabilitation, strength training, and healthcare. We are united by a shared commitment to purposeful care, evidence-based practice, and genuine human connection, supporting people with back pain, hip pain, sports injuries, and long-term recovery.
Meet the Team
Laura Randall
Founder
Osteopath, strength coach, and the founder of The Recovery Project in Cromwell, Central Otago. Laura holds is a registered osteopath in New Zealand, combining clinical training with a strong background in progressive strength and rehabilitation.
Before entering clinical practice, Laura spent much of her life in the equestrian world. Working closely with horses developed her ability to read movement patterns, compensation, and subtle changes over time. Horses do not mask dysfunction, they show it through how they move, load, and behave. This early exposure shaped Laura’s movement-first lens and continues to influence how she assesses and treats people today.
What Laura Specialises In
Laura works primarily with people who are ready to move beyond short-term symptom relief and want to understand why their pain keeps returning. Her clinical and coaching focus includes:
Persistent and recurrent back and hip pain
Running-related injuries and strength training for runners
Strength training for people new to lifting or lacking confidence
Women’s health, particularly using strength training to build resilience and capacity
People who have relied on hands-on treatment for years without lasting change
Hip labral tears, gluteal tendinopathy, and complex lower-limb conditions
Carleen Wenzlick
Clinic Manager/ Administration
Carleen recently joined The Recovery Project in an administrative role and is excited to be part of the team. She and her family moved to Cromwell in August 2024 and have loved settling into the Central Otago lifestyle, spending time outdoors, being on the water, and embracing a good ice bath challenge.
Carleen brings a strong background in people-focused care, having worked as a Massage Therapist for 18 years. During that time, she loved connecting with people and supporting their wellbeing. She has also worked as a Natural Health Consultant with Health 2000, where she helped clients feel informed, confident, and supported in their health choices.
While administration is a new chapter for Carleen, she is thoroughly enjoying the role. She loves being able to continue working with people behind the scenes, supporting the practitioners, and helping create a welcoming, organised, and well-run clinic environment.
